Make Your Own Baby Shower Diaper Cake

I'm sure many of you have been to a Baby Shower where there was a cake made out of diapers? The first time I saw one, I was so impressed at how creative they are. They are so cute your mon-to-be will have a hard time wanting to dismantle it after the shower is over.

When my daughter was expecting her first baby, she kept talking about having a diaper cake at her shower. After searching locally for people who make diaper cakes, I decided it would be much cheaper and easier to just make it myself. I also found that if I did make it myself, I would be able to personalize it however I wanted.

I couldn't wait to get started. I went shopping at the Party Store and Hobby Lobby for items that I might use to create the perfect diaper cake. They both have a great selection of baby shower items that you can use to make your diaper cake. There are so many different themes you can go with. The selection of baby items is unlimited. You can do a gender specific cake or you can do a neutral one. There are items for just about any theme you can think of.

I was having so much fun deciding which way to go, that I was wishing I had more than one shower to do. We knew she was having a boy, so I settled on doing a blue "It's a Boy" theme. I found the adorable stork pen that I used for the top, at The Party Store.
